There are workaholics, shopaholics and chocoholics. Is there a word Marriageholic? I guess no. But it’s a real word in Chinese. It means a kind of people who is eager to get married. They are in the marriage range, loosely say, which is from 24 to 35. Their parents, relatives and friends all arrange many blind dates for them. Those “matchmakers” set up two people according to their ages, appearances, family, jobs, salary and many other factors, salary being the most important. It sounds more like a trade than a date, not romantic at all. However, it’s an effective way to find a wife or husband, because they might be similar and be able to live together. Some people think marriage is a trade of food and sex, and I agree .
